Well here in sunny Scotland the favourite cuisine used to be indian, but there has been a definate shift to Italy, and as a part Italian I delighted.

Yay for not liking vegetables. I join you there. And tai and Indian are great too. Especially when it's spicy.

I adore veggie pakora with a really hot dipping sauce.

But vegies can be wonderful. The other day, I was doing ageneral fridge clean-out, and ended up throwing together a simple salad of chicken, avicado, mixed lettuce, baby spinach, seeded mustard, and some home-made maionaise from a friend. Best lunch on a hot day, and cleaned out the crisper.
Other foody wonders, a local greek restaurant, which I avoid for budgeting reasons. We tried it last week for a mate's birthday. The mousaka and spanocopida were perfect, they did a big sample platter of ontrays with a flaming dish of something lemon-scented in the middle, and that was nearly a meal in itself! And greek desserts! I forgot how much I love them. I'll be well fed for a month!

O god! Almost everything in that salad's my worst nightmare.

Let me guess, everything except the chicken? *grin* Avicado's one of those things you love or hate.

There's a little place here in town called The Cotton Patch that has the best pot roast and broccoli casserole i've ever had.
Also, I miss my Mom's cooking...we're hispanic, so i grew up with all the traditional stuff but since i don't see her very often, i don't really get cooking like that anymore.

That salad sounds good, and vegetables can be very good, assuming they are fresh and are prepared in an interesting and lively way... Greek food is amazing as well as is Italian and Sicilean.

God1 I absolutely hate avicadoes and spinach. Enough to make projectile vomit up the nearest wall.

the annual list of the world's 50 best restaurants was once again released, without any major changes and surprisingly, not much Chicago love...here's the website: http://www.theworlds50best.com/bestlist.aspx

Anyone like liver and onions? I hate it. The weird thing about tomatoes, is this: I hate raw tomatoes, yet I like spaghetti sause and pizza sause. That salad sounds good if you replace the mayonaise with ranch or French dressing.
